November 06 Green WeekI have observed an obsession the liberal left wingers and the media have with "Saving the Planet", being "Green", or saving the environment. If you are neutral and not really paying attention, it seems like an honorable cause. It is just amazing how many people follow this absolutely worthless cause. Lets not confuse my opinion on this cause with feeling it is acceptable to waste resources. I think this notion of humans destroying the earth is arrogant at the very least. To think that humans are even capable of destroying the earth is to put humans at a much more powerful place than they should be. The media is just obsessed with global warming and worshiping the earth. This is no surprise when you look at what the Bible says. in Romans 1:25...
These people have put worshipping the earth as the single most important thing these days. If you will notice, the people that are the loudest with this cause are the very people that oppose prayer in schools, advocate homosexuality, abortion, among other left wing agendas. I do not think this is an accident. They really believe these causes are worthy of supporting. The lack of morality is no surprise. The Bible says in 2 Thessalonians 2:11...
It is sad that we have so many people that have forgotten that God loves the world so much that He sent His Son to die and pay the debt of their (our) sins. Most of the problems that we have can be solved by abiding by Matthew 6:33...
When I speak negatively of the green movement, I do not mean that I advocate a wasteful lifestyle and willful pollution. I just think that an irrational focus on saving the planet is not healthy. The planet was created by God and replenishes itself. It is self cleaning and will be around long after we humans are gone. There is no such think as man made global warming. This love affair with the planet is beyond irrational. It is funny how the people that tell right wingers or Christians to stop preaching to everyone are the ones preaching more than everyone else. The true tragedy is that those who have been redeemed by Jesus are not as passionate about serving their Lord as the planet worshippers are at serving theirs. That is my take on all this green, tree hugging, global warming hogwash. Originally posted http://www.paulmccord.net |
